Google Chrome updated itself without notice??

I love Google products, and some of the recent integration they have been doing with Gmail and Google Calendar. But this time it has crossed the line.

Since my last post about giving up Google Chrome, I must have used it once or twice, but when I had heard that there was and update, I was curious to see if it would run any better on my aging system.

I went hunting for a way to update it, but to my surprise, it was already updated!!!

Why Did Google Chrome Auto Update

I hadn't opened the application for about a month, so how is it possible that Chrome update itself? I appreciate Google trying to be pro-active and pushing update, unlike Microsoft with IE, but at least a warning such as the one seen on Firefox would suffice. I don't like applications going out and fetching updates by themselfs, running the patch and then sitting pretty like nothing happened. I like to know what's going on in my system. My firewall didn't alert me to this either, probably because Chrome has auto access to the web.

Tisk, tisk Google... next time a small pop-up balloon telling me that Chrome is being updated would be nice. If there were major changes to the browsers, and it was updated in this fashion for the enterprise environment, I'm sure the administrators would be furious.

On the flip side, Google is probably tailoring itself to users who have not bothered (or are not savvy enough) to update IE 5.5 to IE6 let alone IE7, thus creating a slew of problems for web developers.

Hi Bud, help......... I bought a cable Hdmi to Dvi to hook up my sons ps3 to an samsung syncmaster 931c lcd monitor. I keep getting the black screen. I changed the video settings on the ps3, to 720, even 480 thinking the monitor is low res. but to no avail. Please help, really frustrated and eager to please my son. Thanks, Kenny.
