Gmail Attachment Bug

Google keeps adding new functionalities to GMail and that’s great, but how about fixing what you broke?

Before the new Gmail v2 release, if you clicked on ‘download’ for an attachment, it would open in a new window. Now what happens is that Gmail uses the same window and navigates to a blank page which give you the download pop-up from your browser. If you click on the back button hoping to go back to your inbox…nothing happens!! Only way to go back to your inbox is by typing in the url. Your session is still alive, so you will still be logged in.

I know for a fact that this used to work in v1, they broke it in v2, and it’s really annoying. Come on Google; I know Gmail is still in beta(almost 5 years later), but I’m sure this is a simple fix... just add the target="_blank" tag to the download link. Haha!

If you use TabMixPlus,

If you use TabMixPlus, follow the directions below: open TMP options > Links > Prevent blank tabs when downloading files > EDIT and remove from the list the line /disp=attd&view=att/

Thank You
