Need For Speed: Underground Review, Tips and Tricks
I'm a huge fan of the Need for Speed series, and so playing Need For Speed - Undercover was a must. I haven't read any previous reviews so this is going to be my opinion, as un-bias as I can make it.
The first time you pop the Blu-Ray Disc into the PS3, the game loads data to the hard-drive to make load times quicker. I wouldn't mind this so much if it actually made an improvement over previous version of the game. I guess my expectations for load times are too high. After the loading is completed, you jump directly into a game. This I really appreciate. No messing around with menus and selecting different modes, get right down to the action.
Another things I really liked about this game is the way you can jump into races and missions. Whenever you are 'close enough' to a race location or mission, a pop-up at the bottom of the screen allows you to jump right in. You can also select other missions from the GPS (map) and start right away. No more driving to the location...which I always though was a waste of time.
A few other things I liked about the game are:
Life after school - Transitioning and Moving On
After having spent close to 20 continuous years in school, seven of those in university I am finally done. Soon to receive the official paper that states I have a Bachelors in Computer Science - Software Engineering.
Unlike a majority of students that graduate college/university, I am not frantically job hunting since I'm already working in my field.
Therefore over the past three years, this full time work and part time school was a delicate balancing act. Moreover, this has been my routine for the past three years. Gladly, yet sadly, this has come to an end. Over the next few months I'm going to have to transition into an adult 'working life' and try to fill the void left by the hours of school work that pre-occupied me with something useful.
NHL 09 Jersey Code - Released
After waiting for days, and months, EA has finally released the jersey codes that allow you to unlock the third jerseys.
There was a lot of speculation about why it was held in such secrecy for so long, and I'm sure that story will emerge with time... but for now we can all enjoy the new looks.
Jersey Code: xe6377uyrwm48frf
Sadly, there will be nothing else to look forward to in the game...besides waiting for NHL 2010.
Technology Fueled Addiction - Formula One
Finding a new hobby has never been easier. With a slew of information available on the internet with everything from Wikipedia articles, to YouTube videos, to Google News Alerts, you can always stay on top of things.
When I started watching Formula 1 mid way through the 2008 season, I would have never imagined that it would be as addicting as it is. With the help of a few technologies, I was able to educate myself about the sport and continue learning.
Gmail Themes - FINALLY!!!
After 4 years of the plain old blue and white, the natively supported themes section of Gmail is a huge welcome. It's about time guys and great job with the themes.
It also looks like they tried to please everyone. For the hackers among us, we have the Terminal Theme and for the kids, there is the Candy Theme. All the themes are very well thought out, creative and again, a sight for sore eyes. I was starting to think that they had given up on aesthetics and were aiming purely for functionality...not that it's a bad thing, but you shouldn't overlook the visual aspect of a great application either.
I'm loving these themes, and I'm sure it's a matter of time before we are able to create our own themes, with custom pictures and colours.
Also, with the introduction of Video and Audio chat, Gmail is leaving the other mail 'websites' in the dust. When you bundle all these into a package that is also tightly knit with Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Reader, it's a great recipe for success.
Keep up the good work Google...
Google Chrome updated itself without notice??
I love Google products, and some of the recent integration they have been doing with Gmail and Google Calendar. But this time it has crossed the line.
Since my last post about giving up Google Chrome, I must have used it once or twice, but when I had heard that there was and update, I was curious to see if it would run any better on my aging system.
I went hunting for a way to update it, but to my surprise, it was already updated!!!
